Originally envisioned to be twice as long, Abocrab was split into two EPs before eventually settling into its final form as a single EP. Unfinished and raw, this album marks the first Cro-Baba foray. The project began with a heavy influence from Thee Oh Sees (their track "Carrion Crawler") with the first song, "The Gauntlet," being directly inspired by it. Over time, however, the sound evolved and took on a life of its own, resulting in Abocrab's unique character.
The album opens with a cover of Sunforest's "Overture to the Sun", a piece that I really really love. It morphed into a dark, dungeon-like organ composition, something I want to explore more in future projects.
There's not much else to add, except that my favorite track on the album is "Ice Bridge."
